The clients had a very small back garden. They wanted to build a small garage in which to store personal belongings and they still wished to have enough space so that they could entertain and sit out of both a daytime and evening and enjoy their garden.
I created a design that allowed for their storage space and still give them both enough space to entertain and enjoy their garden space.
I began the project by building their small garden shed with concrete blocks and using a natural stone cladding. I used natural stone paving for the sitting area and also used it for the raised planting areas.
The planting I used was very simple but modern and contemporary. The lighting used is a must in gardens and it also allows the clients to use their garden in the evening time too. Lighting gives the garden a sense of warmth, particularly in the evenings.
The old fencing within the garden was given a make over by means of a lovely hardwood finish which in turn brought contrast to the garden and a feeling of depth
(The feeling of depth is the cool paving colour and minimalistic against the dark wood, that’s what it means)
